Facebook ads got me good when they showed me its preview, and I have no regrets. I ordered it in January of 2020, and I can't remember it's exact arrival time, but I know it came a bit faster than the estimated window. I was right in between what they list as US14 and US16, and since I really didn't want to shell out any extra money, I decided to panic for 4 months and commit to ordering the smaller dress. The good news is that it fit amazingly right out of the (surprisingly tiny) box. I did end up getting it tailored because it was quite long on me, and I believe she took it in several sizes at the waist. It didn't change the overall shape of the waist as much as it made the corset do its job supporting my terrible posture. I probably could have gotten away with ordering the US12, which is the size in which I normally buy my clothes. We also decided not to add a bustle, as it would have been extremely bulky. Instead, she added a little silk wrist loop midway down the skirt so I could grab it and carry it over my shoulder. We trekked through the woods and over all sorts of rocks and it worked perfectly. I bought a $40 dress from a department store to throw down at my reception after the formal dances, so a bustle wasn't a deal breaker for me.
I am 5'8" and (thanks to the pandemic) around 165lbs. I have broad shoulders, a 35in waist, and wear a 36DD bra. I know I really wanted to compare my size to others when I was looking through reviews, so hopefully I can help someone else with that.
I got SO many compliments on this dress. My aunt has been a seamstress for years, and mentioned it 'seriously might be the most beautiful dress she's ever seen.' I will say the underskirts are a little scratchy, but if I had bothered to wear a slip or something protective it wouldn't have been an issue. It was a completely inappropriate choice for a July wedding, but I felt like an absolute queen and seeing my husband actually cry as I walked down the aisle more than made up for any potential heat stroke.
I know I would have paid hundreds more if I had gone with a similar dress in a typical bridal shop, and there was a promotion going on when I purchased that took about $100 off. I can't reiterate enough how happy I am with my experience. I seriously loved my dress, and I would absolutely recommend Cocomelody to anyone searching for the right one to say 'yes' to.
